Dear Parents and Students:
Welcome to Walton Chorus! My name is Michelle Dobo, and I am the uniform chair for the choral department. Below are the uniform requirements for the chorus program which must be purchased by 8/25/23 to ensure they are received and properly tailored in time for the first concert in October.
On August 8 at 6:30 PM, we will have our Mandatory Annual Parent Meeting (in person in the Walton Theater) where we will display the chorus attire, and I can answer any additional questions on uniforms.
Students are required to wear the official Walton Chorus uniform to each chorus concert. Concerts do serve as a performance grade, so it is vital this payment be made by the deadline of 8/25/23 to ensure student success.
If your family is experiencing financial difficulties, please contact me as soon as possible at michelledobo@gmail.com or (404) 429-7355 to discuss other resources we have available to ensure your child is properly outfitted for concerts. We have several gently used dresses and tuxedos that have been donated by previous chorus members upon graduation for this purpose, and we are happy to help. Also, you do not have to be in financial difficulty to have a gently used uniform. We have an extensive gently used inventory and can usually outfit many students for free or reduced price.
Treble Choir(Soprano and Alto) Uniform:
- Informal Chorus Uniform-T-shirt (included in Participation Fee payment).
- Formal Chorus Uniform Choice #1 – Long navy and black dress, concert black Character shoes, and a garment bag.
- Or Choice #2 – Black zip up jacket with Mandarin collar and black pants. Shoes are an additional purchase and may be black dress shoes, black closed toe ballet flats, or Character shoes mentioned above.
- The Uniform Chair will arrange for the students to be fitted, and all uniform items ordered through the chorus department as a group in August.
- Total cost for Choice #1 is $130.00, which includes a dress, shoes, and a garment bag .
- Total cost for Choice #2 is $112.00, which includes a jacket, pants, and a garment bag.
- Uniforms must be purchased utilizing the online system (Walton Chorus Uniform Ordering and Payments) no later than 8/25/23 to ensure delivery in time for the first concert in October.Â
- Alterations may be needed prior to the first concert. The dresses will need to be hemmed 1 ½ inches from the floor WITH the uniform shoes on, and this hem length is to be maintained during their tenure in chorus. Sue Jones, 4sue@bellsouth.net or 404 518-6793, is a seamstress who knows exactly what to do and has been hemming Walton Chorus dresses for many years, charges $25. However, you may use whomever you like for this.

There are 2 options for the tuxedo:
- Tenor and Bass chorus members may purchase their tuxedo (Choice #1) through our vendor, Bel Fiore in the Woodlawn Shopping Center https://www.belfiorebridal.com/ . Cost is $175.00 (plus tax), no later than 9/1/23. (Includes pants, jacket, shirt, tie, and garment bag. Alterations are at an additional cost) See the attached flyer. You may drop in at any time on Wednesdays to get fitted. Otherwise, please contact Bel Fiore for a fitting appointment. 770 509-7185.
- Sue Jones, 4sue@bellsouth.net or 404 518-6793, a seamstress who has been hemming for Walton Chorus for many years, charges $15 to hem pants. However, you may use whomever you like for this.
- If a student already owns a black tuxedo they may use it instead of purchasing, but will need the Walton specific tie from Bel Fiore.
- If the student wants Choice #2, they will need to be fitted by me and not Bel Fiore. Please email me (michelledobo@gmail.com ) so I know to arrange the fitting appointment during their chorus class period. Choice #2 is $112 for jacket pants, and a garment bag (shoes sold separately, either on your own or purchasing character shoes a la carte).
- Choice #2 uniform must be purchased utilizing the online system (Walton Chorus Uniform Ordering and Payments) no later than 8/25/23 to ensure delivery in time for the first concert in October.
- Please allow time for alterations prior to the first concert.
Tenor and Bass students must also provide their own black dress shoes and black dress socks.
