Weekly Chorus Update: 9/13/18

Calling all singers who are up to a challenge!

Looking to challenge yourself and become a better singer in the process?  Audition for the All-State Chorus.  Form and audition fee are due tomorrow, September 14, 2018.  CLICK HERE FOR FORM

You can’t go to the concert without a uniform – that fits!

Men:  Good News!  The tuxedos are scheduled to arrive early next week. Pick up will be at Michelle Dobo’s house, and you will be sent a separate email when everything is ready for you.

Women:
* There are still 8 of you who have not picked up your full or partial uniform. If this is you, please contact Michelle Dobo at michelledobo@gmail.com or 404-429-7355 (cell) to arrange to pick up today.

* Try on your dress and shoes ASAP. If something doesn’t fit, we have a limited time to get it exchanged or ordered.

* Hem your dress — nearly all dresses require hemming and you need to allow 7-10 days to have that completed. Your dress should be hemmed to 1 1/2 inches off the floor with the shoes on. Contact Michelle Dobo at the above information if you would like a seamstress recommendation.

What do lollipops and football have in common?

They both happen at Raider Valley on Fridays and need your support. Walton Chorus sells gourmet lollipops at every home game, and we are looking for one parent to help with each of the next four home games — September 21, October 5, October 12 and October 19. The students do most of the work, but we must have a parent present, so if you can come help support Chorus and the Raiders on one of these Friday nights, email Glynis Holihan at glynis@atlpromo.com.

Upcoming Spirit Wear and All-State Deadlines

Spirit Wear Deadline — Friday, September 7, 2018, at 3:30 pm

All orders for Chorus spirit wear must be placed online or deposited in the Chorus box by Friday, September 7 at 3:30pm. This will be the only order placed fall semester, so be sure to get a long sleeve T, pajama pants or a hoodie today. Click HERE to order!

All-State Chorus Registration Deadline — September 14, 2018

Students wishing to try out for All-State Chorus must register by September 14. If you have any questions, please see your Chorus Directors. Click HERE for the All-State FORM

Weekly Chorus Update: 8/30/18

Chorus Families,

We hope the start of the school year has been smooth for you and your students. Here are some updates for Walton Chorus.

Donut Mixer
All Walton Chorus students should wear their chorus shirt and stop by the chorus room upon arrival to school on Friday, August 31, 2018.  Chorus Boosters will be serving Krispy Kreme donuts and juice boxes from 7:45 – 8:15 am.  It is a great time to meet fellow singers from all the choirs and celebrate a terrific first month of singing.

Fall concert – October 9, 2018, 7:30 pm, Johnson Ferry Baptist Church
Holiday concert – November 29, 2018, 7:30 pm, Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church

Concert Chaperones Needed
We are looking for parents to chaperone the students during the Fall and Holiday Chorus concerts.  This is a great way to be involved directly with the students and be amazed at how the directors manage more than 450 of them! Please email Kat Wilson at katcwilson@gmail.com if interested.  Thanks in advance for your support.

Booster Donations
If you have completed the online Booster Donation Form form but have not remitted payment, please either send your check in to the Treasurer’s Box in the chorus room or submit via PayPal.  Thank you to those who have donated, as always, your support is greatly appreciated!  The Walton Chorus Booster magnets will be sent home with your student next week.

Reserved Concert Seating
Concert seating is limited! If you wish to have reserved seating at the concerts, please remember a booster donation of $250 or more is required. Learn more about donor benefits.

Women’s Uniform Dresses Are In!
All female formal uniforms have arrived! If you ordered one and have not received it, please contact Michelle Dobo michelledobo@gmail.com or 404-429-7355 (call or text) to arrange to pick up at her house 3345 Robinson Farms Court 30068. If you have already picked up your uniform, or when you do, please try on the dress and shoes and make sure everything fits before it is too close to the October concert and too late to order different sizes.

Spirit Wear Deadline Extended to September 7
Walton Chorus SPIRIT WEAR is available for order until 3:30 pm on September 7. Once our fall order is placed, spirit wear will not be ordered again until February. Be sure you get your long-sleeve T or hoodie for this fall!

Braves 2018 Performance and Spirit Wear Announcement

Walton Chorus had a fantastic evening out at the Braves game on August 16th. Thank you to all our students who came out to sing, and all our friends and family who came out to support us in singing the National Anthem before the game!
