Dear Parents and Students:

Welcome to Walton Chorus!  My name is Michelle Dobo, and I am the uniform chairperson for the chorus department. Below are the uniform requirements for the chorus program which must be purchased by 8/18/17 to ensure that they are received and properly tailored in time for the first concert on 10/12/17.

On August 1st at 7 PM, there will be a general Chorus Program parent’s meeting in the theater, where we will display the chorus attire, and I can answer any additional questions on uniforms.

Students cannot participate in the chorus concert unless they have paid for their uniform.  The concert does serve as a test grade, so it is vital that this payment is made by the deadline of 8/18/17.  

If your family is experiencing financial difficulties, please contact me as soon as possible at michelledobo@gmail.com  or (404) 429-7355 to discuss other resources that we have available to ensure that your child is properly outfitted for the concerts.  We have several gently used dresses and tuxedos that have been donated by previous Chorus members upon graduation for this purpose.

Female Uniform:  

  • Casual Chorus Uniform T-shirt – Free with payment of Participation Fee.
  • Long navy and black dress, concert black shoes, a single strand of faux pearls, and a garment bag
  • All measurements will be taken during class, and all uniform items ordered through the chorus department as a group in late August.
  • Total cost for these four items is $130.00 and must be purchased utilizing the online system no later than 8/18/17 to ensure delivery in time for the first concert on 10/12/17.
  • Alterations may be needed prior to the first concert.  The dresses will need to be hemmed 1 ½ inches from the floor WITH the uniform shoes on, and this hem length is to be maintained during their tenure in Walton Chorus.   

Male Uniform:   

  • Casual Chorus Uniform T-shirt – Free with payment of Participation Fee.
  • A traditional black tuxedo with a white, wing-tip collar shirt, along with a navy bow tie and black dress shoes
  • The bow tie ONLY must be ordered through the chorus department as a group.  The cost for the bow tie is $5 and must be purchased utilizing the online system no later than 8/18/17 to ensure delivery in time for the first concert on 10/12/17.   
  • There are 2 options for tuxedo purchase (unless student already owns a black tuxedo, which they can use instead of purchasing one).
  1. Male chorus members may purchase their tuxedo through the chorus department.  Our selected vendor will be in class in August to take measurements for those students wishing to go with this option.  Cost is $130.00 and must be purchased utilizing the online system no later than 8/18/17.  (Includes pants, jacket, shirt, navy bow tie, & garment bag and alterations, if needed)
  1. Male chorus members may purchase their tuxedo on their own at the retail store of their choice, but will still need our specific bowtie ($5). (Men’s Wearhouse located at 440 Barrett Pkwy has a very affordable option in their “career apparel” line that is less than $150 for pants, jacket, and shirt.)  
  • Please allow time for alterations, which will be needed prior to the first concert.  
  • Men must also provide their own black dress shoes and black dress socks.

  • The complete uniforms are listed first – these are the ones most of you will be purchasing.
  • The additional a la carte items (dress only, girls shoes only, pearls only, garment bag only and bow tie only) are included as options for those students who have already procured one or more of the uniform pieces from a previous student, and therefore will not need to order the entire uniform package.   If this situation applies to you, please notify me by email at michelledobo@gmail.com.
